Located below Mount Meru, on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, Arusha city has a temperate climate. The city is close to the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Mount Meru in the Arusha National Park.

Accommodation: Gold Crest Hotel Arusha

Day 2Game Drive en route Tarangire NP

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha and head straight to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park.

Ranking as the 6th-largest national park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600 square kilometers, it is most popular for its large elephant herds and is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti. However, its vegetation is much greener with lots of grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands and some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest. Also, do not forget about the giant baobab trees that can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 liters of water.

In the afternoon you will break for lunch. After lunch, the game drive continues until you start driving to your lodge. It is now time to relax, dine, swim and relive the memories you collected during the day.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, and is indeed the flagship tourist attraction of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It’s home to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and the Big Five game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). Huge herds of wildebeest and zebra traverse its plains during their annual migration.

You will carry your packed lunch which you will enjoy when making a pit stop in your safari vehicle. After lunch around 12pm, you will start driving to Serengeti arriving by 2pm at the Gate. You will have game drive until 5.3pm after which you will arrive at your tented camp inside the Serengeti where you rest, dine and cherish the wonderful moments.

The magic of Serengeti National Park is not easy to describe in words. Not only seeing, but also hearing the buzz of millions of wildebeest so thick in the air that it vibrates through your entire body, is something you will try to describe to friends and family, before realizing it’s impossible. Vistas of honey-lit plains at sunset are so beautiful that it’s worth the trip just to witness this.

You will carry your packed lunch which you will enjoy when making a pit stop in your safari vehicle. After lunch by 12pm, you continue driving toward the Ngorongoro region. By 2pm you will checkout from Serengeti and arrive at your lodge in Karatu by 5pm to rest, dine and cherish the wonderful moments.

Its groundwater forests, bush plains, baobab-strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs offer incredible ecological variety in a small area, rich in wildlife and incredible numbers of birds. Pink flamingos stoop and graze by the thousands, colorful specks against the grey minerals of the lakeshore.

Lake Manyara National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, set in grassland, savannah, woods, mountain scenery, and hot springs. This park is home to flamingos, elephants, tree-climbing lions, buffalos, leopards, gazelles, baboons, hyenas, and many others.

After lunch, the game drive continues until you start driving back to your accommodation in Arusha or head to the airport – this is where your safari ends.
